Lifestyle television has captured the American primetime audience and has quickly come to dominate the airwaves in a relatively short period of time. It has created a whole new experience for not only television viewers but for broadcasters, sponsors and advertisers alike, creating a new business model for the industry.
Our fascination with other people’s lives explains the long-lived success of these shows as well as talk shows (“The View”, “The Tonight Show”, “The Barbara Walter’s Special”) and lifestyle news shows (“Entertainment Tonight”, “Lifestyles of the Rich & Famous”). Just as the pre-Oscar red carpet coverage attracts substantial viewership, these shows transport us into a fantasy lifestyle that most viewers have only dreamt about.
A new trend in the format of these shows is slowly evolving—‘the good cause’ factor. In shows like “The Biggest Losers” or “Extreme Make Over: Home Edition” the drama that ensues is ultimately for the good of either self-improvement (weight loss) or the betterment of others (specialized house renovation), respectively.
Enter “Party Perfect”
Each show brings viewers into the socialite world of our host as she flies nationally (and internationally) in search of that perfect party dress to wear to each week’s charity benefit or fundraiser. Every week viewers will enjoy:
* A new city
* A different shopping area
* A signature store
* An intimate profile of top designers
* An etiquette and style lesson
* And access into a velvet-roped party
We meet our host, socialite Jennifer Creel—beautiful, old world elegance, grace and élan. A new Jackie O, on route in her private jet to a new destination were she is invited to attend a high society charity function. Ms. Creel is met by a guest stylist--a well established professional in the world of fashion and well-versed in the dressing of celebrities and socialites. Ms. Creel and her appointed stylist take a tour through the host city’s key shopping district and zero in on a signature store. The stylist introduces us to the highlighted fashion designer(s) and we will be privileged to an intimate profile of the work and life and inspirations of the designer(s).
Outfitted in one of the designer’s divine seasonal creations, Jen Creel waltzes us behind the velvet ropes of an exclusive charity event and introduce us to the glitterati of the event. If only the night could last forever!
